First, let’s tell you more about Arab Business Machines. ABM is a Value Added Distributor, in the Middle East and Levant. ABM sells through its channel of Authorised Resellers and solution Experts for Apple, B&O Play and many other products.

As the Logistics Officer you would be accountable for overseeing the inbound and outbound operations and inventory management. You will maintain communication with carriers, suppliers, warehouses, custom brokers and others involved in the shipping and delivery of good.

A successful Logistic Officer will:

  • You will have full control over the reception of merchandise to the warehouse and follow up on inventory levels and damaged goods
  • Be really organized and manage outbound activities for customer orders
  • Manage outbound shipments, follow up with clearing and forwarding agents and monitor the turnaround time
  • Process and document letter of credit for shipments
  • Coordinate and arrange transportation of shipments to destination
  • You will have great time management to track shipments and update customers
  • Coordinate with clearing agents and customs to maximize efficiency in terms of time and quality
  • Verify customs documentations for exports and transfer of ownership
  • Manage the stock movement through the warehouse management system
  • Perform monthly stock audits
  • Coordinate with the planning and credit teams for invoicing customer orders

 

Skills

 

Criteria requirements to be successful:

  • You must have at least 3 years of of logistics/supply chain experience preferable in consumer goods, ideally electronics
  • Very strong coordination and multitasking skills
  • You will have outstanding communication
  • Commercial minded and a good judgment for quality
  • Previously managed stock control of a warehouse, inventory and audits
  • You will have a good understand of legal requirements and documentation required in Oman
